Abbreviations:
- MR – magic ring
- sc – single crochet
- ch – chain
- dc – double crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dec hdc – decrease half double crochet crochet 2 stitches together)
Grey hat
MR
Row 1: ch 2. 11 dc (you will have 12 dc st)
Row 2: ch 2. 2 dc in ch 2 st, 2 dc in each st. (you will have 2dc in ch 2 sp). (24 st)
Row 3: ch 2. 2 dc in ch 2 st, *1 dc, 2 dc*. Repeat from * to * around. (do not dc in ch sp). Join. (36 st)
Row 4: ch 2. 2 dc in ch 2 st, *1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 d, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc*. Repeat from * to * around. Join. (40 st)
Row 5: ch 2. 2 dc in ch 2 st, *1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc*. Repeat from * to * around. Join (44 st)
Row 6: ch 2. Dc around. Join. (44 st)
Row 7: ch 2. Dc around. Join (44 st)
Row 8: ch 2. Dc around. Join (44 st)
Row 9: ch 1. Sc around. Join (44 st)
Brim
Attach yarn on 15th st from the join to the left. Ch 2. Hdc in same st. hdc 15. Turn.
Ch 2. Hdc in same st. hdc across. Turn.
Ch. 2 dec hdc first 2 st, hdc across until last 2 st, dec hdc last 2 st. do not turn.
Sc around the entire hat an up the brim. Fasten off.
Strap
Ch 24
Sc across 23 and turn twice. You will have 3 rows. Fasten off.
Attach across brim of hat with a button at each side.
