Crochet Star Cloche Hat – a Knots of Love Chemo Cap

Sometimes I’m full of crochet ideas, sometimes I look for inspiration and then sometimes, inspiration finds me!  This was one of those times.  I was fortunate to have a fellow instagrammer – ainagiving find me through my Instagram page, MB_Stitches and reach out to me about collaborating on a pattern for charity.  How cool is that?  These wonderful women compile and pair crafters with amazing charities.  Check out their website www.ainagiving.com to see all the amazing projects on their site!!  They’ve been kind enough to also post my Cloche on their site!  https://ainagiving.com/caps-for-chemo/

I was so excited to make this cloche or chemo cap for Knots of Love.  A charity that provides caps and blankets for cancer patients.  What a beautiful and meaningful cause!

Did you know?  These stats are unbelievable….

This cloche is not only stylish and cozy, it’s also perfect for the spring.  I love the look and feel so much, that I made one in both yellow/grey and blue/grey with Caron Simply Soft.  These two cloches were sent to a family friend going through treatments herself.  I’m thrilled to share this free pattern with you and hope that you love this pattern as much as I do.

Finishing:

Coil the petals in the flower tightly and stitch the back so that the petal chain stays in a coil.  Sew onto cap at the exact section where the star stitches are joined so you can hide the seam on the hat.
