I love this teal poncho because it’s so versatile and soooo easy! Even a beginner can execute this pattern and make it look amazingly beautiful. I love a pretty blue piece to layer with jeans and a while t shirt, but this would be gorgeous in any color.

Abbreviations:
- Ch – chain
- Sc – single crochet

Ch for 28” (about 69 chains depending on how big you would like it – mine is a medium/large)
For larger sizes add 20 chains for each size up.
Row 1: ch 1. sc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in same st. *sk 1 st, sc and dc in same st*. Repeat from * to * to the end. Turn.
Row 2: ch 1. Sk dc st and sc in 3rd st from hook, dc in same st. *sk 1 st, sc and dc in same st*. Repeat from * to * to the end. Turn.
Row 3 to the end: repeat row 2.
Keep working the rows until you make one very large rectangle. I made my rectangle 60” long. Fasten off.
Fold rectangle in half and slip stitch or sew one side up to 18.” (leave the rest unsewn for the cowl). The other 2 sides will be completely open.
I added 3 wooden buttons on the seam for decoration. Start the cowl on the open neck and work in rounds.
Cowl neck
Row 1: Sc 76 around the opening of the cowl. Join.
Row 2: ch 2. Dc around. Join.
Row 3-12: repeat row 2. Fasten off.
Edging
Row 1: sc evenly around the outside of the poncho to where the cowl meets. (only 2 sides)
Row 2: dc in every sc from previous row. dc, ch 2, dc in each corner
