Mom and Baby Cloche Hat Set

This perfect 70 degree weather won’t last long here on the east coast… chilly bus stop mornings, and cool evenings… ahhh bliss. What would be more perfect for a picnic or church than this adorable mom and baby cloche hat set? I’m in love!! If only I have a little girl baby….. oh well, instead I get to admire other peoples little girls in cute hats! 🙂

This set works up quickly and makes a PERFECT gift for an expectant mom or a granddaughter! The open weave let’s it breathe and makes it a great spring hat set.

Round 5: *1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc* repeat from * to * around (40)
Round 6: *1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc* repeat from * to * around (48)

Change colors to color B

Round 19: ch 1. Sc in same st. Sc around. Join. (49)

Roses

Ch 34. Turn.

sc 33 across in 2^nd ch from hook

ch 1. Sc in 2^nd st from hook, *2 dc, 2 dc, 2 dc, sc*. Repeat from * to * across. You will have 8 petals.

Fasten off but leave long strand of yarn. Coil the strand so that the wrong side faces in. (this will make the petals flare a bit). Stitch the coil on the back with the long strand so that it stays in ‘rose’ shape.

Make 3 for mom hat and 1 for baby cloche.

Uncoiled Rose:

Back of Rose. Stitch across closed to keep it’s form.

ch 8
ss in 2nd st from hook, sc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, sc. rotate work and work the next stitches on the other side of the chain.
