Crochet Cotton Washcloth

  

Need a last minute gift? This is it!!  This cotton washcloth can be gussied up with a beautiful rustic soap and some raffia and you’ve got the perfect hostess gift.  I made added some acorn ornaments as topper and.. instant holiday gift!

This pattern is simple and uses the same stitch repeated throughout.

Materials:

Abbreviations:

  • Ch – chain
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Sk- skip a stitch

Ch 32

Row 1: ch 1. sc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in same st, *sk 1 st, sc and dc in same st*.  Repeat from * to * to the end. Turn.

Row 2: ch 1.  Sk dc st and sc in 3rd st from hook, dc in same st. *sk 1 st, sc and dc in same st*. Repeat from * to * to the end. Turn.

Row 3- 24:  repeat row 2.

Border row 1:  ch 1 and sc around the entire washcloth.  Sc, ch 1, sc in each corner.  You will have around 33-36 st on each side of the washcloth depending on how far apart you space your sc.  Try to space them out evenly throughout.

Border row 2: ch 1 and sc all the way around.  Sc, ch 1, sc in each corner.

Washcloth is 10” x 10”
